FAQ
Is Dictx still open source?
Yes. Dictx remains GPL-licensed and free to build from source.
What does Pro actually add?
Pro is the convenience layer: signed installers, in-app updates, and priority support. Free still includes the full local dictation workflow.
How do I activate Pro inside the app?
Open Settings, go to About, and enter the license key shown after
checkout (dxp-...).
Where does /buy go?
/buy opens the hosted checkout. After payment you land
on a page that shows your license key, and opening that page again
shows the same key.
Where does the DMG download come from?
`/api/download/macos` resolves the latest GitHub release and
redirects to the newest macOS .dmg asset.
